#TheStayMovie wins Best Story Award at Things2Fear Film Fest USA!

the_stay_best_story_award_frazer_lee

Not so long ago, in a little cottage in the Cotswolds, I worked with some amazing people on my latest short film, The Stay. Our mission statement was to keep it simple, to keep it ‘do-able’. And so, our tale was about a character, a location, and a spooky “what if?” scenario.

With the support of our producers and crowdfunders (and many other supporters who gave of their time, skills and enthusiasm to help bring the project to the screen) The Stay had its World Premiere at the 25th Anniversary World Horror Con, in Atlanta USA. And the movie has been playing at film festivals ever since, picking up the Best Atmosphere Award at last year’s Independent Horror Movie Awards, along with nominations for Best Music and Best Original Concept.

Now (drum roll please…) I’m delighted to announce that The Stay has won another award!

My thanks to Festival Director Dionne Jackson and all at the Things2Fear Film Fest for including The Stay in Official Selection, and for awarding the film the brilliant accolade of ‘Best Story’. And I’d like to congratulate all the selected filmmakers, awards nominees and winners on their work – you can see the full list of 2016 award winners, and learn more about the festival here.

Cheers!

We held an intimate cast and crew screening this week (in atmospheric fog-bound London) and I’d like to thank all our supporters for making it a great evening. We raised a glass of Gangly Ghoul Ale afterwards in celebration.

And I’d love for you to share in the celebration with me.

Look out for a special online screening of The Stay on Friday 13th November.

#TheSkintaker #Giveaway – and the winners are…

Skintaker-PBsml

Today is launch day for my fourth novel THE SKINTAKER, out now in ebook and paperback from Samhain Publishing.

As I always do on launch day I took some time out this morning to donate a copy of the new book to my local library. I’m lucky to have the place that inspired Roald Dahl when he wrote ‘Matilda‘ as my local book haven. And I feel honoured to have my books shelved there. I’m delighted to hear that two of my other books The Lamplighters and The Jack in the Green are out on loan!

Now, i’m also lucky that the post office is opposite the library, which made it easy for me to mail a signed copy out to the winner of my Goodreads Giveaway, who is (drum roll please…)

Amber L. of California, USA

Congrats Amber! I wish you good reads, and I sincerely hope the book gives you shivers.

A quick haircut and one cup of coffee later –
(well, it is launch day so an author can treat himself, right?)
– and it’s time to announce the 5 winners of my Skintaker ebook giveaway.

They are (another drum roll please…)
Stephanie G.
Laura F.
Tamalyn R.
Michael F.
Aiden W.

Congratulations to all the winners! You’ll receive your ebook code today so keep an eye on your Facebook account/email inbox.

Thanks to all who entered the giveaways. And if you didn’t win this time, you can still get 30% off The Skintaker using the promo code below:
