ABOUT THE DANIEL GATES ADVENTURES:

Together in one volume, the first two novellas in the Daniel Gates Adventures.

THE LUCIFER GLASS

“It may cost you your soul. ”

Daniel Gates is a fixer. Whatever his client wants, he can get for a price. But the price of his latest assignment is a high one indeed. He is to travel to Scotland to exchange a rare demonic text, a grimoire, for a consignment of even rarer whiskey. Reading the grimoire, Gates learns of the legend of Lucifer s Glass and the unholy trinity of green-eyed demons who protect it. As he does battle with the demons, Daniel realizes too late that there is much more to his assignment than meets the eye. He is locked in a struggle to save his very soul from damnation.

THE LEPER WINDOW

“Do not gaze into its secrets.”

Daniel Gates’s last assignment involving a rare demonic book left him plagued by hideous nightmares, which are about to get even worse. When a page is stolen from Choronzon’s Grimoire, Daniel is sent to the wilds of North Wales to retrieve it for his mysterious client. But the stolen page contains dark, occult secrets, and he finds to his peril that he is not the only one desperate to find it. Daniel’s journey takes him to the very brink of madness and to the demons that await—beyond the Leper Window.

note to self – if you come across a demonic grimoire in your local library, maybe just put it back on the shelf…

“This novella expertly blends horror and mystery” 5 star review of The Leper Window from Russell James

October’s chill is well and truly upon us, and more chills are forthcoming with my new occult horror novella The Leper Window (released tomorrow, October 6th through Samhain Publishing).

Check out this rather stonking review from Russell James (author of Dark Vengeance and Q Island) over at Goodreads:

“Bram Stoker Award nominee Frazer Lee delivers again in this novella that expertly blends horror and mystery, relying more on suspense than gore to keep the reader engaged, as only a master of the craft can.” (5 out of 5 stars)

See you tomorrow for an extract, some insights and…a giveaway!

Examiner review: “The Leper Window is a subtle work of horror”

Looks like my new horror novella The Leper Window passed the exam over at Examiner.com:

“The novella has a very strong sense of location as well as an almost palpable sense of doom that engulfs the story and gives it the feel of an older horror work by writers such as H.P Lovecraft or M.R. James. For fans of classic horror, ‘The Leper Window’ is sure to be a treat and a break from the norm in the current horror genre.”

Early praise for The Leper Window:

“Demons, chills, and superb writing.”
(Cat After Dark Book Reviews)

‘The Leper Window is an interesting and creepy work…it packs an eerie punch’
(The Novel Pursuit)

And here’s what The Horror Bookshelf had to say about the Daniel Gates Adventures:

“Lee is a supreme talent when it comes to building a sense of atmosphere and that is evident not only in The Lucifer Glass, but his other works as well.…Lee has at least another two books planned in the Daniel Gates universe, but I hope the stories continue well beyond that!”
(The Horror Bookshelf)

I just signed the publishing contract for my new novella…

SamhainSoonThe ink is just drying on the contract for my new novella The Leper Window. I’m thrilled to announce that Samhain Publishing will release the book in 2015.

The Leper Window is the sequel to The Lucifer Glass and is the second in my Daniel Gates occult novella series. This time, poor Daniel faces weird evil in the wilds of Wales.

My editor Don D’Auria said he had fun reading the book, and I hope you will too!

On that note I’d better sign off as the final copy edits have also come in for my new novel The Skintakers, (prequel to The Lamplighters) also due for release via Samhain Horror in 2015.

If you haven’t read them yet, why not check out The Lamplighters and The Lucifer Glass ahead of publication of the sequels?

One last thing before I go, did I mention I’ll be appearing at World Horror Con 2015 in Atlanta USA? It’s set to be a great event, and is my first USA gig since Horrorfind Weekend 2006. I’m looking forward to meeting fellow horror authors and readers alike – and I might even have some copies of my books to sign at the Friday Mass Signing Event. See you there!

Cheers,
Frazer
